Easy Pizza Sauce

Easy Pizza Sauce

Servings:

Ingredients 

50ml extra-virgin olive oil 
1 large onion finely chopped 
3 garlic cloves crushed 
½ tsp of chilli flakes 
2 x 400g chopped tin tomatoes 
1 tbs of red wine vinegar 
Small bunch of fresh basil 

 

Method 

  1. In a medium size saucepan heat the olive oil and gently fry the onions until softened. 

  2. Add the garlic and chilli flakes and cook for a further 4 minutes. 

  3. Add the tomatoes, red wine vinegar and season to taste with salt and black pepper.  

  4. Add the fresh basil and gently simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

  5. Tip sauce into a blender and blend until smooth.

Easy Pizza Dough

Easy Pizza Dough

Servings:          4 x 12in pizza bases 

Prep time:         1-2 hours  

Cooking time:  10 mins 

Ingredients 

  • 650g/1lb 5oz 00 flour (or strong white flour) 
  • 7g/ ¼ oz sachet easy-blend yeast 
  • 2 tsp salt 
  • 25ml/1fl oz olive oil 
  • 50ml/2fl oz warm milk 
  • 325/11fl oz warm water 

Method 

  1. To make the dough mix the flour, yeast and salt together in a large mixing bowl and stir in the olive oil and milk. Gradually add the water and mix well to form a soft dough

  2. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for about five minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Transfer to a clean bowl and cover with a damp tea towel. Leave to rise until doubled in size. About 1 ½ hours. 

  3. When the dough has risen, knock it back and knead again until smooth. Set aside for 30 minutes until it has risen again. 

  4. Divide the dough into 4 balls and roll out each one.  

  5. Now you can add your favourite toppings and cook in your Firepod.

Wholemeal Pizza Base

Wholemeal Pizza Base

Servings: 2 

Prep time: 10 minutes 

Cooking time3-4 minutes 

Ingredients 

  • 500g wholemeal flour 
  • 25g butter or margarine  
  • 2 tsp salt 
  • 13g dried yeast 
  • 250m warm water 

Method 

  1. Add the yeast to the warm water and stir to fully dissolve.  

  2. Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl and rub in the butter. 

  3. Add the yeast and mix to a soft dough, using more water if necessary. 

  4. Kneed for about 5 minutes until smooth. 

  5. Cover the dough and leave somewhere warm until it has doubled in size.  

  6. On a floured surface roll the dough out into two pizza shapes.  

  7. Use the toppings of your choice and cook on your Firepod for 3 minutes.

Spicy Chicken Kebabs for a night under the stars

Spicy Chicken Kebabs for a night under the stars

Servings:                20 kebabs
Prep time:              30 minutes
Cooking time:        15 minutes

Ingredients

3 garlic cloves, chopped

Knob of fresh ginger, chopped

Grated zest and juice of one orange

4 spring onions, chopped

3 tbsp of honey

1 tbsp of light soy sauce

2 tbsp vegetable oil

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes

20 button mushrooms

20 cherry tomatoes

2 large red peppers, cut into 20 cubes

 Method

  1. Grind the garlic, orange zest, spring onions and ginger to a paste in a food processor. Add the orange juice, soy sauce, honey and oil, then blend again.
  2. Place the cubed chicken in a bag and pour in the mixture. Leave to marinate for an hour.
  3. Thread the chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers onto 20 wooden skewers.
  4. Cook on your Firepod griddle for 7-8 mins on each side or until the chicken is cooked thoroughly.

Servings:                4

Ingredients

500g lean minced beef
100g cooked beetroot
4 small burger buns
Small bag of rocket
4 tbsp soured cream

 Method

  1. Tip the meat into a bowl and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  2. Work with wet hands and mix the seasoning into the meat.
  3. Divide into four and shape into burgers.
  4. Cook on your Firepod griddle for about 5 mins on each side.
  5. Put some rocket on each bun and top with a burger, a few slices of beetroot and a dollop of soured cream.
